According to City Clerk Jodi Brockett, once the tables arrive, the city will start renting the cabin. It will cost $200 to rent. That breaks down to a $100 rental fee and a $100 deposit. There are a few things you will have to follow to get your $100 fee back. More information is available by calling City Hall.
The City Council also signed a contract with Patriot Pyro for fireworks for the 4th of July Celebration. The City will spend $7,000 for three years and according to Brockett, Shawnee Professional Services donated $1,000 for fireworks and the city will match that so additional fireworks can be bought for this year.
The City also approved revising a section of the City Code book regarding the amount a charity can charge for raffle tickets. This came at the request of the Elks Club, who wanted to make sure they were following city code for their “Queen of Hearts” raffle.
No action was taken on the full application to USDA Rural Development for the sanitary sewer improvement project, hiring employees for summer mowing and on a change order for the water tower project.
