Marion Police Release St. Patrick’s Day Enforcement Detail Results

MARION – Marion Police made one DUI arrest and issued 12 seat belt citations plus, 12 other citations during the recent St. Patrick’s Day enforcement detail.

Police Chief David Fitts says by keeping impaired drivers off the roads and ensuring that motorists and passengers are buckled up, we’re able to help make the roads a safer place for everyone.

Marion Police joined forces with highway safety partners and both state and local law enforcement in the St. Patrick’s Day enforcement campaign.

The traffic safety effort was funded by federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation as part of the statewide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click It or Ticket” campaigns.
