CARBONDALE – Carbondale Police are looking for a Marion man wanted on a gun charge following a report of shots fired in the 1100 block of East Main Street in Carbondale last Saturday night.
According to Carbondale police, officers responded to the area around 10:10 p.m. and discovered evidence of a shooting but, there were no suspects or victims in the area.
A short time later, officers learned the victim arrived at the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale with non-life threatening injuries related to the incident.
During the course of the investigation, officers learned the suspect was 35-year-old Rodney D. Brooks of Marion.
Officers learned Brooks and the victim are acquaintances and engaged in a dispute. Officers did not immediately locate Brooks.
Then on Monday, Carbondale officers, with assistance from the Jackson County State’s Attorney’s Office, obtained an arrest warrant for Brooks charging him with Aggravated Battery with a Firearm. Brooks should be considered armed and dangerous.
