Man Facing Drug-related Charges Following Execution of Knock and Announce Warrant at Mt. Vernon Home

MT. VERNON – A knock and announce warrant operation Friday morning in Mt. Vernon resulted in the arrest of a 35-year-old man on drug-related charges.

According to the Mt. Vernon Police Department, around 6:30 Friday morning, members of the Mt. Vernon Police Department/Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department High Risk Team served a warrant at 2002 Herbert in Mt. Vernon.

Damion D. Thrailkill, was taken into custody and taken to the Jefferson County Jail with bail to be set on charges of possession of between 5-15 grams of methamphetamine with intent to deliver and possession of drug equipment.

The search warrant was issued after investigations by the Mt. Vernon Police Department/Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department Joint Narcotics Unit revealed illegal narcotics were being sold from the residence.

The High Risk Team was able to secure the residence without incident.

Members of the Joint Narcotics Unit conducted a search of the residence and located quantities of methamphetamine, drug equipment, and packaging materials.
