BENTON – Local youth are invited to learn more about 4-H during a new year kickoff on Oct. 2. During the free event, youth can participate in fun games and activities and get enrolled in Franklin County 4-H.
4-H is the largest out-of-school youth organization in Illinois, challenging participants to “learn by doing” with fun, hands-on activities that teach skills for living. 4-H believes children can grow when they’re surrounded by people who are cheering for their success. The program encourages 4-H members to explore what is interesting to them through a variety of clubs, projects, and events.
The open-house style program will take place on Sunday, Oct. 2, from 2-4 p.m. at the Franklin County Extension Office located at 1212 Route 14 in Benton. 4-H is open to local youth ages 5-18 (as of Sept. 1).
