Two Arrested for Drug Charges While Sitting in Vehicle in Mt. Vernon

MT. VERNON – The Mt. Vernon Police Department/Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Joint Narcotics Unit made two drug arrests Wednesday night. Twenty-seven-year-old Courtney Weaver of Marion, 30-year-old Brittany Joplin of Benton, and a 13-year-old juvenile were found sitting in a vehicle at 1409 S. 42nd St. Narcotics detectives observed methamphetamine in plain view in the vehicle.
