Jackson County Health Department Will Require Appointments for Vaccinations Beginning Monday

MURPHYSBORO – Starting Monday, September 20, the Jackson County Health Department will require an appointment for vaccinations, including COVID-19 and TB skin tests.

Services have been provided on a walk-in basis since June, but the move to appointments will allow the health department to ensure proper levels of staffing.

Making an appointment is a simple process. Visit www.jchdonline.org and click on the box near the top of the page. Clients can securely provide the minimal information requested and select a vaccination appointment date and time. COVID-19 booster doses and flu vaccine are not yet available, but are anticipated soon. Further details will be released once those services are available and the appointment portal will be updated.

Persons who are unable to make an appointment online may call the Health Department at 684-3143 to make an appointment over the phone. For COVID vaccinations, individuals seeking a second dose should bring their vaccination card with them. Those signing up for other types of vaccinations should bring along their insurance card.

Vaccination against COVID-19 remains the most important step to bringing the virus under control, lessening public health precautions, making more activities possible, and keeping those most vulnerable in our community safe and healthy.
