ISP District 19 in Carmi Release Roadside Safety Check Results

CARMI – Illinois State Police District 19 in Carmi has announced the results of a Roadside Safety Check held in White County during April at the intersection of US 45 and Illinois 141.

Officers issued one citation for DUI, one other alcohol/drug citations, one occupant restraint offenses, 14 registration offenses, five driver’s license offenses, two insurance violations, nine total citations/arrests and 30 total written warnings.

Alcohol and drug impairment is a factor in more than 30 percent of all fatal motor vehicle crashes in Illinois, and throughout the U.S., nearly 10,000 people die each year due to alcohol-impaired driving.

Roadside Safety Checks are designed to keep our roads safe by taking dangerous DUI offenders off the road. This project was funded through the Illinois Department of Transportation.
