Investigation into Business Burglaries in Carbondale Leads to Woman’s Arrest

CARBONDALE – An investigation into two business burglaries in Carbondale has led to the arrest of a woman who was also wanted on a Jackson County warrant.

According to Carbondale Police, they investigated a business burglary in the 800 block of East Main Street on Aug. 24 and another in the 1200 block of West Main Street on Sept. 3.

During the course of the investigation, officers identified the suspect as 26-year-old Antonia G. Turby of Carbondale. Turby was also found to have an active warrant for failure to appear for a Criminal Damage to Property out of Jackson County.  

Officers located Turby on Sept. 3 in the 400 block of South Poplar Street and arrested her on the warrant. A search warrant for the property was granted.

During the execution of the warrant, officers recovered property taken from the aforementioned burglaries. Officers charged Turby with two counts of Burglary and Criminal Damage to Property.

Turby is being held in the Jackson County Jail.

Carbondale Police continue to investigate.
