IDPH Sunday Reported 1,860 New COVID-19 Cases in Illinois

SPRINGFIELD – 1,860 new COVID-19 cases, including 27 additional deaths, were reported Sunday by the Illinois Department of Public Health.

According to an IDPH press release, one of those deaths was reported in Franklin County and another one in Williamson County.

The preliminary seven-day statewide test positivity from April 25-May 1 is 4.1%.

Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 1,339,728 cases, including 22,019 deaths, in Illinois. Six new COVID-19 cases were reported in our area Sunday according to information we received and compiled from area health departments.

The total number of COVID-19 vaccine doses for Illinois is 11,802,395. A total of 9,393,137 vaccines have been administered so far in Illinois. The seven-day rolling average of vaccines administered daily is 83,239 doses. On Saturday, 44,678 doses were reported administered in Illinois.
