Hamilton-Wayne County Relay for Life Set for June 12

MCLEANSBORO – The Hamilton-Wayne County Relay for Life is set for Saturday, June 12 at the Hamilton County High School parking lot in McLeansboro.

This year’s theme is “There’s No Place Like Hope!” The event will run from 5 to 10 p.m.

Teams will begin arriving and setting up their spaces at 2 p.m.

Food booths and parking will open at 5 p.m. There will be kids’ games and food booths available throughout the event.

The Opening Ceremony starts at 6 p.m. Debbie Knight will sing the National Anthem followed by a welcome from McLeansboro Mayor Chad May. Recognition of survivors will follow.

Debbie Knight will also entertain from 6 to 6:30 p.m. followed by Kimmy Jo Strantz at 6:30 p.m. and the Kearney Brothers will follow at 7:15 p.m.

Raffle sales will close at 8:30 p.m. The Luminaria Ceremony will begin at 9 p.m.

Raffle drawings and the closing ceremony will be held immediately after the Luminaria ceremony.

In case of rain, the Relay will be canceled.
