BLUFORD – Four people were arrested early Monday when members of the Mt. Vernon Police Department/Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office High Risk Team executed a search warrant for illegal drugs at 319 Poplar Street in Bluford.

The warrant was the result of an ongoing investigation conducted by the MVPD/JCSO Joint Narcotics Unit, who searched the residence and property, locating evidence and contraband.

The investigation continued into the evening. Those arrested include 45-year-old Chad Pepple of Bluford for unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon, unlawful possession of ammunition and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Thirty-nine-year-old Rose McCormick of Bluford and 57-year-old Angela Cates of Mt. Vernon were both arrested for possession of fentanyl and drug paraphernalia.

Forty-year-old Jeromie Kemp of Bluford was taken into custody for possession of less than five grams methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

All four were taken to the Jefferson County Jail.
