MARION – The Executive Director of the Marion Cultural and Civic Center says due to the high infection rate and lack of ICU bed availability throughout all of Region 5, the Marion Cultural and Civic Center will be closed for live events from Aug. 22 to Oct 1.

Josh Benson released a statement on the facility’s Facebook page Wednesday saying all events during this time will be rescheduled for a future date. Your tickets will carry over to the rescheduled date for the new events.

Benson says the Michael W. Smith concert on Aug. 21 will still happen. Per CDC guidance, masks are highly encouraged for all attendees. Everyone will be asked to wear a mask upon entry. MCCC will not be serving concessions during this event.

Benson says they will announce on Facebook when events are rescheduled.
