CARMI – A Carmi man who was recently sentenced in White County to the Illinois Department of Corrections for domestic battery was sentenced Wednesday to IDOC for possession of a weapon by a felon.
White County State’s Attorney Denton Aud says 36-year-old Christopher D. Blazier will spend three years in IDOC and serve one year of mandatory supervised released on the weapons charge. He will have to pay court costs.
Aud says Blazier was arrested on a warrant in December 2018 by the Carmi Police Department on a warrant for domestic battery. Upon his arrest, he was discovered to be in possession of a taser and had previously been convicted of a felony. His sentence will run concurrently with the sentence entered in his domestic battery case on Monday afternoon.
