Carmi Man Sentenced for Burglary, Obstructing Justice

CARMI – A Carmi man was sentenced in White County Wednesday to the Illinois Department of Corrections for burglary and obstructing justice.

White County State’s Attorney Denton Aud says 45-year-old Donald Stover will spend three years and nine months in IDOC with two years of mandatory supervised release for burglary and two years in IDOC with one year of mandatory supervised release for obstructing justice. He will have to pay court costs and restitution.

Aud says Stover was arrested by the Carmi Police Department for aggravated assault and disorderly conduct in September 2020. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that he had committed a burglary at Slay’s Carpet in Carmi. Stover was on probation for an obstructing justice case at the time the offense occurred.
