Benton Man Jailed Following Thursday Morning Incident in Franklin, Williamson Counties

BENTON – A Benton man is facing drug and other charges following a Thursday morning incident in Franklin and Williamson counties.

According to Franklin County Chief Deputy Kyle Bacon, sheriff’s deputies attempted a traffic stop on Deering Road near Burton Drive in West Frankfort.

The driver of the vehicle failed to stop, fled south on Deering Road and eventually entered Williamson County.

Shortly after, the suspect vehicle came to a stop as a result of mechanical issues. The driver, 35-year-old Travis W. Braden of Benton, was the only person in the vehicle.

Braden was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding and numerous traffic offenses. Braden was also wanted on an outstanding warrant from Williamson County for Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding.

Braden is lodged in the Franklin County Jail in Benton.
