Benton City Council Meets Tonight

BENTON – The Benton City Council has a heavy agenda for tonight’s meeting at 6 at City Hall.

The Council is expected to discuss and possibly approve an engineering agreement dealing with remarking the runway and the design and special services phase engineering for rehabbing the main ramp area at Benton Municipal Airport.

In other business, the Council is expected to get an update from Chastain and Associates on the I-57 Interchange project, discuss and possibly approve a road closure for the BCHS Homecoming Parade and for the BCHS Graduation Parade and returning the retainer to B.C. Contracting for Sidewalk Replacement Project 2020.

There will also be discussion and possible approval of hiring full-time probationary police officers and an ordinance for auxiliary police officers, placing the Fiscal Year 2021-2022 budget on display along with accepting resignations and making appointments to the City’s Zoning and Planning Commission.
