SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Monday announced 1,319 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Illinois, including one additional confirmed death.
Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 195,399 cases, including 7,637 deaths, in 102 counties in Illinois.
The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity for cases as a percent of total test from August 3–August 9 is 4.1 percent.
Franklin County reported 13 new positive confirmed cases of COVID-19 Monday. Jackson County reported nine cases and one death from COVID-19 Monday. The cases are in isolation. Union County also reported nine cases Monday. They are in isolation. Johnson County reported five cases. They are in isolation. Massac County reported four cases. They are in isolation. Pulaski County reported two cases that are in isolation. White County reported two cases – one is in isolation while the other case status is in progress. Alexander, Hamilton, Pope and Saline counties each reported one case. They are all in isolation.
