West Frankfort City Council to Meet with Contractors about Bids for New City Hall Renovations

WEST FRANKFORT – The West Frankfort City Council tabled approving bids and awarding projects for renovations to the new City Hall building on West Main at Tuesday night’s meeting.

City Clerk Angie Baker Deaton tells us the city received two bids regarding the work that will need to be done at the new City Hall. Since the bids were for different scopes of the project, the mayor and commissioners are going to meet with the contractors to verify the bids.

Deaton says the city is hoping to move to the new location at the first of the year. There is discussion about moving the West Frankfort Police Department into the present City Hall building, but at this point it is just a discussion.

Banterra Bank donated the building located at 605 W. Main to the city earlier this year.
