Man Arrested after Carmi Police Found Meth during Search of Carmi Home Tuesday

CARMI – A Carmi man faces drug charges after a search warrant was executed at a home in the 400 block of 7th Street in Carmi shortly after 3 Tuesday afternoon.

Carmi Police Chief Jason Carter says methamphetamine-related paraphernalia was confiscated as well as a baggy with 9 grams of crystal methamphetamine.

Police arrested 45-year-old David P. Brockett for possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and meth-related child endangerment. He was taken to the White County Jail. Bond was not set.

A parole warrant was later issued from the Illinois Department of Corrections for Brockett to be taken into immediate custody by corrections officials.

Carter says additional arrests are expected. The investigation continues.

The 7-year-old child was left in the custody of his grandmother.
